1. The Rockcastle Adult Education staff can tell you about our program and services offered.
  2. They will schedule an appointment for you at the Center to complete your enrollment.
  3. You will then receive a short pretest to determine which areas you need to study in order to pass the GED test, prepare for post-secondary studies, sharpen your skills for employment, or preparation for postsecondary studies.
  4. You will then receive a schedule individualized to meet your needs. Your schedule will include a series of courses over a six-week period.

GED Option

  1. At the end of the series, you will receive an Official GED Practice Test.
  2. The results of your Practice Test will be reviewed with you to determine your eligibility to enroll for the next GED testing session.
  3. The staff will help you enroll for the GED test.   Test Fees:  Social Studies – $40, Science – $40, Mathematical Reasoning – $40, Reasoning through Language Arts – $40
  4. Take your computer based GED test at the Rockcastle Testing Center. You will receive your scores instantly.
  5. Receive your GED diploma one week after your test, if you pass. If you do not pass, you can study some more, take the GED Ready again and retest —you can take the GED Tests three times in each calendar year.
The GED® test will have a passing score of 145 on each test part. Therefore, you will need to reach a score of at least 145 on each part of the four-part battery in order to receive your GED® test credential. You may also earn a “College Ready” score if you receive a score of 165 on a test part.
